ESTABLISHMENT OF JTEKT IN TANGIER AUTOMOTIVE CITY

JTEKT Corporation hosted a ground-breaking ceremony on September 17, 2018 to celebrate the construction of its new steering system production facility in Tangier, Morocco.The event was presided by Mr. MoulayHafidElalamy, Minister of industry, investment, trade and numeric economy and co-hosted by Tanger Med, represented by its President, Mr. Fouad Brini.

Production at JTEKT Automotive Morocco is set to begin in 2020 with a target annual capacity of 230,000electric power steering systemsfor local plants of international carmakers.The 11,300-square-meter plant in the heart of Tangier Automotive City will also accommodate production lines for Fuji Autotech Morocco, a JTEKT subsidiary which produces manual columns. This integration will strengthen JTEKT’s ability to offer brand new steering systems and thereby solidify its No.1 position in the global market.
