Container rail activity

The Railway Containers Terminal strengthens the offer of Tanger Med Port in terms of infrastructure and port services. The Terminal Railway continues to provide advanced logistic solutions to the maritime companies, land carriers, freight forwarders, and importers/exporters with a delivery service of containers between Tanger Med I port and the different economic centers of the Kingdom.

Vehicles Activity

Operational since 2012, the vehicles activity in Tanger Med spreads over 20 Ha and includes a carrier terminal that processes an annual capacity of 1,000,000 new vehicles. It is subdivided into two terminals: the Renault Vehicle Terminal and the Vehicle Terminal Multi-user.

  • Spreads over 13 Ha
  • Nominal storge capacity of 6,000 vehicles
  • Treated annual output of 400,000 vehicles produced within the Renault Tanger Med Plant

Multi-user’s vehicles Terminal

  • Spreads over 13 Ha
  • Storage capacity of 3,000 vehicles

Vehicle rail terminal

  • 4 lanes with a useful length of 240 m
  • Each train of vehicles can carry up to 280 vehicles
  • In 2020, start of operation of the 1st multi-storey car park module which increased the storage capacity by 800 additional spaces
  • 2 other modules of 800 spaces, each under construction

General Cargo and Bulk Activity

The General Cargo Terminal is dedicated to the processing of import/export traffic mainly related to the activities of industrial firms located in the northern region.

Products handled: project cargo, cereals, steel coils, scrap metal, wood, goods in bags or big bags, heavy packages, Ciments, etc.

Hydrocarbons h Activity

HTTSA “Horizon Tangiers Terminal SA” is an oil storage terminal at the port of Tanger Med. It started its activity on February 2012, and provides the following
services to its clients:

  • Trading (Trans-shipment);
  • The import of refined products;
  • The bunkering

The terminal treated in 2019, more than 6,3 MT of
petroleum product (in / out), 30% for bunkering, 10% for trading and 60% for local consumption.

In 2020, the liquid bulk traffic grew by +26% compared to 2019. The recorded traffic is 7,968,485 tons of processed hydrocarbons.

Passengers and Ro-Ro Activity

Tanger Med Port Passengers' core activity is the development of passengers traffic and TIR trucks. It aims to establish a genuine sea bridge on the strait, a decisive vector in the dynamics of exchanges with Europe.

Tanger Med Marine Simulator

Aware of the importance of continuous training for the development of its pilots’ skills as provided for in
resolution A-960, the Tanger Med Port Authority has a cutting-edge technology maneuver simulator.

The simulator is also at the service of all the pilots of port authorities, consulting firms, and consultants
wishing to undertake engineering training and studies.


in November 2008, and located within the Tanger Med port complex, the Logistics Free Zone “ZFL” managed by the company Medhub, is a suitable platform for the establishment of logistics bases to cover Europe, the Mediterranean and Africa.

Located in the immediate vicinity of the port via a single customs area, the ZFL, dedicated to value-added logistics activities, is located in the heart of the business centres of the region, allowing a fast and efficient distribution to a market of more than 1 billion consumers.

In addition to distribution activities at the level of global flows, the ZFL is a stockholding point for the distribution to other free zones in Morocco as well as the release for consumption on the subject territory.
